DEVELOPMENT OF DRIVING SIMULATION SOFTWARE FOR MICROPOLIX THEME PARK

2011, May 31

Atlantis Virtual Reality, pioneering company in virtual reality, has developed for its client Micropolix the first ship driving simulator piloted by children. Every child plays a role and thanks to the coordination of everyone it is possible to reach a safe harbor. With this principle, atlantis vr has created the first ship driving simulator, a replica of Pullmantur's Sovereign which belongs to the Royal Caribbean Group.

Atlantis has developed the hardware and the software in order to make this idea possible. Thanks to the technology created by this company from elche, the bridge is composed of three-dimensional screens synchronized among them and provided with touchable navigation systems.

During 40 minutes the children who come to micropolix will be able to experience the pilotage of a ship together with their friends and to coordinate all their movements and exploits as a team. moreover, they will have to solve games about the trips that pullmantur makes in its different cruises. The above mentioned games are possible thanks to the augmented reality technology.

The system of simulation is really complex since it is managed by twenty graphical stations synchronized among them. Every one of them (depending on their function) could affect the rest of the navigation.

Noelia López, expansion and communication manager of atlantis virtual reality, declared that: "undoubtedly it is an unforgettable experience and the beginning of an age of interactive simulations for different sectors, such as leisure and professionals' training."
